HATHA YOGA (ALL LEVELS)

Stretching exercises called “poses” done in an orderly manner to balance the coordination of the mind and the body.  Controlled breathing techniques to energize the body and relaxation poses to reduce the stress in the mind and the body.  Bring a yoga mat and towel.  Class begins March 7 at Redstone Highlands, 4951 Cline Hollow Rd., Murrysville.

PRAISEMOVES

PraiseMoves is designed to be a Christian alternative to yoga.  It combines a low-impact aerobics warm-up with powerful stretching postures while integrating scripture verses and Christian music.  You will exercise the body, mind and spirit.  Exercises can be modified for seniors and those with limited mobility.  Please bring an exercise mat and water bottle.  Class begins March 8 at St. Alban’s Church Fellowship Hall, 4920 Cline Hollow Rd., Murrysville.

 SILVERSNEAKERS “YOGA”

SilverSneakers “yoga” will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses.  Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement.  Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.  Class begins September 24 at Dean’s Health & Fitness Center, 4540 Wm. Penn Hwy., Murrysville.

VINYASA FLOW YOGA

A practice of standing and floor poses that you move through in combination with deep, calming breaths.  This course is designed to increase strength, flexibility, balance and overall relaxation.  Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat.  Class will begin September 24 at the First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville, Laird Hall, 3202 North Hills Road, Murrysville.

New to yoga? Looking for somewhere you can start where you are in a comfortable environment? This is a basic yoga class for those who struggle with paying attention or just feel intimidated by yoga.
